Have a Sense of Humor About the Haldane Kids
To the Editor:
As a Reagan-Goldwater conservative and a "law-and-order kind of guy" I should be the first one to approve of appropriate treatment of "evildoers". But, what kind of world have we come to when kids can't perpetrate a harmless "senior prank" without having the world fall around their shoulders?
My kids were not involved and I don't personally know any of the kids involved but I think we've all gone off the deep end when we speak of prosecuting or terribly punishing these terribly wicked children.
They drew CSI type bodies with chalk (easily removable) by the first rainstorm. They used fake blood, also easy to wash away. No individual person or group was threatened, poked fun at, or demeaned in any way.
So, what's the big deal folks? Have a sense of humor and laugh a little. We did worse when I was a kid almost 50 years ago.
