Families, children, and teachers celebrated together at the
46th commencement exercises of the St. Philip's Nursery School in Garrison. Our
special guests were Gloria Colucci, Superintendent of the Garrison Union Free
School District, and the Rev. Frank Geer of St. Philip's Church in the
Highlands. Twenty-seven new kindergartners received their diplomas, and eleven
threeyears olds also received certificates.
St. Philip's Nursery School opened in 1960 in the Parish House and
serves the three- and four-year-olds from Philipstown, Putnam Valley, and
Cortlandt Manor. The curriculum follows developmentally appropriate practice.
