Philipstown Pirates Capture Back to Back Division Titles With 11-1 Record
The Little League Senior Division, 15 & 16-year-olds, win division second year going 2-1 in seasons last week

Final games' highlights include:

May 25: The Philipstown Pirates traveled to Poughkeepsie South for the first time this season. Poughkeepsie South pounded the Pirates for their first loss of the season. Philipstown's hits included Max Tiffany-Miller's going 2- 2 and Derek O'Dell slashing one to right, breaking up a no hitter in the third.

June 5: Traveling to La Grange, Max Tiffany Miller took the hill, teaming up with catcher Will Charkowski. Max gave up only two hits and had three strike-outs and no runs. The Pirates scored quickly in the first by hits by Kyle Van Tassel and JJ Dean. Rafael Famighetti brought the heavy lumber, hitting a 335' homer in the second inning, bringing in three runs. With two Pirates on, Derek O'Dell put the game out of reach with an RBI double driving in two. Nick Torchia closed the game out, throwing three strike-outs and allowing no hits over three innings. Other notables: Two-hit game by JJ Dean, Kyle Van Tassel and Derek O'Dell; doubles by JJ Dean, Billy Campbell. Will Dean and Billy Campbell scored twice. Final score: Philipstown 10- La Grange 0.

June 7: La Grange finished its series visiting Philipstown. Southpaw Will Dean took the mound, teaming up with lefty catcher Matt Calandrillo. The Pirates scored 4 in the bottom of the third. Max Tiffany Miller hit a lead off single, Conor McCann worked the count for a walk to first. Will Dean connected a pitch down Broadway which scored Tiffany-Miller. Back to back doubles by Christian Callaghan and Luke Solomon had the Pirates up by 4. Luke Solomon came in for short relief, going two strong innings giving up no runs. The Pirates added one more in the seventh with a ground rule double by Billy Campbell and a sacrifice fly from Kyle Van Tassel. The game was closed out by 15-year-old Nick Torchia stricking two of three batters he faced. Torchia picked up his third save. Final score: Philipstown 5 La Grange 3.

The team is coached by Jay Dean, Phil Calandrillo and Jerry O'Dell.
