Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith announces the recent graduation of two newly appointed deputy sheriffs from Rockland County Police Academy.

Deputies Shannon E. Schnaars and Matthew D. Boscia were among the twentyone law enforcement officers to graduate from the extensive six-month session.

Deputy Matthew D. Boscia is a long-time Putnam County resident. During his teenage years, Deputy Boscia was a member of the Putnam County Sheriff's Cadet Program. Deputy Boscia has attended Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York, pursuing an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.

Deputy Schnaars, also a longtime Putnam County resident, attended Rockland Community College.
