SeniorNet Openings Available for Computer Classes at the Mahopac Senior Center

The following SeniorNet computer classes still have openings at the William Koehler Senior Center on Route Six in Mahopac:

-Customizing Windows, (#401) Customizing your mouse and keyboard, setting preferences for the Desktop, Taskbar, Start Menu, and the Quick Launch Toolbar. Creating folders and shortcuts to documents, and getting Help, Disk Maintenance and File Backup.(Prerequisite 101, 201, 202 and experience using Windows XP Operating System) Class given Mondays July 9,16, 23,30 and Fridays Sept 28, Oct. 5. 12, 19

-Internet/Email Basics:(# 301), For students to do basic "net surfing", sending/ responding to Email, using Internet Explorer and YAHOO email service. (AOL is not used). (Prerequisite is introductory 101 course) (Class given Mondays, Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27 and again Mondays, Oct. 15, 15,22.29, Nov. 5)

-Advanced Internet/ Email:(#301) Advanced features of Email and Internet. Create and save Email attachments. Shop safely on the Internet, download programs & files, create personalized start page. (Prerequisite 301 course) Class given Fridays, July 6. 13, 20, 27 and again Mondays Sept. 10,24, Oct. 1

Free computer workshops will also be given at the Mahopac Koehler Senior Center. Future news releases will give details of these workshops, the first to be given, "The Computer Keyboard", on Thursday, July 12. Brush up on your computer skills. Understanding the layout and function of keys. The next free workshop will be a "Beginners Workshop" for those with little or no computer knowledge, to be given Tuesday, July 17. Other workshops will follow August through November.

Classes have only six students at a time, and extra help and free practice hours are available to SeniorNet students.
