Applauds Haldane's Quick Reaction to Senior Prank Dear Editor:
After reading the letters of outrage over the school's "handling" of the senior prank, I have to ask "do your children go to Haldane?" Mine does. I for one applaud the school's quick reaction. In light of what happened at Virginia Tech, where the school took no immediate action, I think that Superintendent. Di Natale was correct in having a two-hour delay and a lock down. How were they to know, at that time (hindsight is a wonderful thing) that this was just a prank. Smiley faces could mean something much more sinister.
It's the school's job to keep my child safe. How dare you infer that what they did was a waste of taxpayer money? What if, Heaven forbid, it wasn't a prank and something did happen. What would you say then? I'll take overreaction to doing nothing any time when it comes to my child.
