Recycling Art at Haldane

Brigit O'Malley And Elizabeth O'Malley posing with the painted cans
Haldane fifth grade artists created a pair of decorated trashcans to encourage everyone to keep their playground clean. One can has two happy lions on it and the message "Feed the lions, keep Haldane clean". The other can has giant frogs on it and requests that people feed the frogs. The children had a great time designing and painting the cans. This project was planned by Wayne Robinson, Haldane Director of Facilities, and Jean Cendali, Elementary Art Teacher. The plastic cans that the children painted are recycled from materials delivered to the school. The project was inspired by the Keep Putnam Beautiful Project created by Walt Thompson.
