Howland Public Library Film Series
On Friday, July 27 at 7pm, the Howland Public Library Film Series will be showing Chungking Express (1994) free to the public.
This cerebral film, directed by Kar Wai Wong, tells two stories about loneliness and disconnection in the big city. In the first story, a policeman pines after his former girlfriend and gives himself 30 days to find another woman; in the second story, another policeman catches the eye of an attractive waitress, who's intent on completely rearranging his life. Chungking Express is in Cantonese with English subtitles. The film runs 102 minutes and is rated PG-13.
The Howland Public Library is located at 313 Main Street in Beacon. Light refreshments will be served.
