18 'Future School Leaders' Graduate from BOCES/Bank Street College
Eighteen area educators recently earned their advanced masters degrees from Bank Street College Graduate School of Education after completing two years of rigorous study in the Future School Leaders Academy. FSLA is a collaborative program run by Putnam/ Northern Westchester BOCES' Center for Educational Leadership and Bank Street College. Its mission is to groom teachers who demonstrate leadership potential for administrative positions in area school districts.
At a recent graduation ceremony, P/NW BOCES Deputy Superintendent Renee Gargano welcomed the graduates into "our community of school leaders," urging them to "have the courage to make decisions that are always in the best interest of children."
"Our region is fortunate to have you," Ms. Gargano added.
Many of the graduates are interviewing for, or have already landed, administrative positions in the area. For example, James Bellucci, a teacher at Southern Westchester BOCES has been appointed Supervisor of the Regional Alternative High School at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES.
