Tech Students Blossom at Mock Wedding

For four Floriculture students at The Tech Center at Putnam/ Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), a mock wedding in May was the ideal showcase for their newly acquired design and management skills.
The fours high school seniors - Victoria Byrd (Ossining), Kimberly Catrini (Putnam Valley), Jen Coelho (Brewster), and Lauren Marrero (Peekskill) - designed, ordered, arranged, and presented bouquets and floral arrangements for a mock wedding and reception in the Tech South amphitheater on BOCES' Yorktown campus as their senior exit project.
Parents, teachers, BOCES administrators, and other students attended the colorful affair. In fact, BOCES teachers and staff members formed the wedding party, wearing their own and borrowed clothes, and chefs and students from The Tech Center Culinary program prepared food for the reception, including several tiered wedding cakes. The Floriculture students served as bridesmaids; Cosmetology students created hair styles for members of the wedding party; and TV Production students recorded the event.
