Slide Presentation on Denning's Point: A Hudson River History from 4000 BC to the 21st Century
Author and Historian shares Hudson River history from one vantage point

Jim Heron, author of Denning's Point: A Hudson River History from 4000 BC to the 21st Century, will share the facts and legends that are part of the history of Denning's Point during a slide presentation on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at 7pm at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing, in Kingston.

Denning's Point is a remarkable peninsula on the eastern shore of the Hudson River that has a significant history with many layers dating back as early as 4000 B.C. The Beacon Institute for River and Estuaries is located here and continues to promote research and education of the Hudson River.

The HR Maritime Museum Lectures are on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7pm at the Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing in Kingston's downtown district. $5 nonmembers, members free. The HRMM is the only museum in New York State exclusively preserving the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries, and the industries dependent on the river.
