      In 1974 I bought property in the Highlands; when I retired from teaching in 1991 I made Valhalla Highlands my permanent residence. One major reason I did this is the proximity to the North Highlands Fire Department to Valhalla. As beautiful as the Highlands is, most of the homes are wood.
