Magical Midnight for Muggles
Dear Editor:

Wizard hats off to our wonderful community for all the support of our Harry Potter activities. Based on our preorders of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and the numbers of our guests from our 2005 Midnight Celebration, we were expecting 30-40 people. Over one hundred, ranging in age from toddlers to grandparents joined in this year.

A special acknowledgement to our Police department- from our 10pm re-opening of the store, though our costume parade led by our community treasure Jonathan Kruk , and judged by community treasure Marilyn Heberling, to our last sleepy guests bidding farewell at about 1:30am, Cold Spring's Finest were on hand looking after us and keeping us safe.

Congratulations to the winners of our counting Bertie Bott's Beans, essay, art, Dragon Raffle, and Harry Potter Trivia contests- we stand in awe of your math, art, and literary abilities!

Finally, apologies to our dear neighbors who were inconvenienced by our larger-than-expected numbers and our enthusiasm as we counted down to the midnight opening of our boxes of books. We can safely promise that, like that magical town of Brigadoon, we will likely not appear out of the mists again in your lifetimes!
