Thomas Formichella, Jr.

Thomas Formichella, Jr. of East Haven, CT died on Thursday, July 19, 2007. He was the husband of the late Helen Doolan Formichella. Born on February 20, 1922 in New Haven he lived in West Haven and North Haven, CT. He was the son of Mary and Thomas Formichella. He leaves his daughters, Elise LaRocco, Cold Spring, NY, Karen F. Krowski, Canton, MA, and Diane F. Williams, North Haven, CT; sons-in-law Michael LaRocco, Cold Spring, NY, Jack Krowski, Canton, MA and Scott Williams, North Haven, CT, and grandchildren, Alessandra (Allie) LaRocco, Kristen Krowski, Emily Williams, and Rebecca Williams. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Onofrio and Anna Ippoliti, and two brothers, Dominick and Edward Formichella.

Thomas owned and operated the Hall Benedict Drug Co. of New Haven, one of the oldest independent drug stores in Connecticut. He also had worked for the New Haven Railroad where he met his wife. He played baseball and softball on several semi-pro championship teams in the New Haven City Wide League and the West Haven Twilight League, receiving their Gold Bat Award. A Mass of Christian burial was held in Connecticut on July 23. Donations may be made to American Diabetes Association (P.O.
