Solo Exhibit of Drawings and Paintings by David Fox at Flat Iron Gallery
The Flat Iron Gallery of Peekskill will have its first solo exhibit of drawings and paintings by David Fox, entitled David Fox: A Retrospective: Figures and Small Works for the month of Sept.(7-30) . An artist's reception will be held Sun., Sept. 23 from 2-6pm. Friday evening, Sept. 7, the gallery will stay open until 8pm for the downtown art district's first Friday of the month celebration.
On display will be watercolor and oil landscapes, and figure drawings and paintings. Fox is well known in the metropolitan area. He has exhibited his drawings and monotypes in New York City at the George Adams Gallery, the National Arts Club, Gallery 12N(New York Society of Etchers), the Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, the Bronx River Art Center, Gallery at St. Mark's, the Ridge Street Gallery, Exit Art, 148 Tribeca Gallery, and the East Village Gallery. His work has been displayed in many Westchester galleries as well. In addition, Fox has exhibited in Connecticut, Maryland, Texas, Indiana, and England. Fox has degrees from the Wimbledon School of Art in London, the St. Martins School of Art in London, and the Maryland Institute College of Art. Fox's artwork is in the permanent collection of the Rutgers University Stedman Museum, the University of Maryland, the Cerebal Palsy Foundation of New York, and the Arts Student League of New York.
The Flat Iron Gallery also exhibits year round fine art, sculpture and handcrafted jewelry by over 100 area artists in four exhibit rooms.
