Sunset Series Triple Event Mega Evening of Fun, Family Movie Night, and Family Campout

Putnam Valley Sunset Series has combined three popular events, the Family Movie, Activity Evening, and the Family Campout all rolled in to one big spectacular Free event, their "Mega Evening of Fun". This community partnership with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be held August 10 (rain date August 11) at Leonard Wagner Memorial Town Park.

The Series has held a number of Free Friday Family Night movies over the summer, partnering with other community groups. This evening the Girl Scouts will run a number of fun activities prior to the movie, starting at 6:30, including games and crafts.

The Boy Scouts will provide the campfire. Last year's campfire was highlight by a flaming arrow to start the impressive blaze. Of course marshmallows will be available for toasting.

The Sunset Series tried something new last year with their first Family Campout. There were 20 tents that decorated the field. Participants woke up to fresh coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts. This year there will be a big addition to the campout. Ed "Red" Todd will set up his famous Tipi (teepee). Theodora Moeller, Sunset Series Director, has already received many inquiries about the "Mega Evening of Fun" and especially about the Family Campout. She hopes to see even more tents lining the field this year.

There will be fun for all ages to enjoy. Participants are welcome to bring a picnic dinner or visit the concession stand. Do not forget your lawn chair or blanket. For additional information please call Putnam Valley Parks & Recreation Department or visit www.PVSunset.com
