My Fake ID's, Encore Performance at Philipstown Depot Theatre
Saturday, August 11 at 8pm, Margaret Gallo Copeland's one-woman show, My Fake Ids, takes audiences on a whirlwind tour of her life to date, but what a life. It's already been filled with nannies of every possible background, a Southern father with a penchant for changing religions, and show-tune whistling mom from Staten Island. As Copeland unfurls her 60- minute biography, she plays each of these characters and a few more (including one terribly blonde school chum who mistakenly replaces 'deja vu' with 'rendezvous') with deft specificity in body language and accent.
Under Robert Ross Parker's careful direction, she never condescends to her characters (with perhaps the exception of the aforementioned school friend), but rather brings them to life with good humor and genuine warmth." My Fake ID's is a sensitive yet hilarious comedy that appeals to the teenager in all of us.
My Fake ID's began its life Off-Broadway at The Lamb's Theatre in Times Square. Since then, Margaret has gone on to perform the show across the country including Michigan, Texas, New York State, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
