Linda Hubbard and Mary Ann Glass to Exhibit at Bannerman's Gallery

Bannerman's Gallery proudly presents featured artists Linda T Hubbard Linda T. Hubbard and Mary Ann Glass, opening on August 12, with a reception from 4 to 6pm.

Linda T. Hubbard is a photographer who is captivated by the mystic and grandeur of Bannerman's Island. With her camera, she has walked the paths around the Residence and Castle, viewed the structures from a boat and hovered over the island in a helicopter. She has captured the essence of place, a sacred ground of mystery and beauty. This show is all recent images of her photographs that depict the joy of the new gardens and cleared trails. But also depicts a sense of urgency in raising funds to facilitate saving the structures. Mother Nature is taking its toll and support is needed in the efforts to raise funds to save this Hudson Valley treasure. Nowhere in New York State is there an island with a castle created by a mastermind and entrepreneur. Nowhere in the United States is there such a castle on a river.

Linda has been listed in the Art in America Guide. She has done fine art and craft shows throughout New York, Vermont , Massachusetts, and Connecticut and exhibited in many galleries and stores throughout the region. Polaroid Photo Master: Mary Ann Glass brings an inquiring, admiring eye to the world's odd and beautiful things. Her work has been described as being spiritual and sensual, serious and elegant. This show features manipulated Polaroid Photos of Bannerman Castle and the river. The process creates photos that resemble master paintings. The show will also feature photos taken in infrareds film, creating a haunting images. Upon graduating from the summer intensive program at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana, Ms. Glass left her corporate job to settle with her cat and her Nikons in the Hudson Valley as a full-time photographer. She sells her work throughout the tri-state area. Her images have been exhibited in places as diverse as Talinn, Estonia; Beacon, New York; Missoula, Montana, and a bathroom in Chelsea.

Group shows have included the 100 by 100 at Collaborative Concepts for two consecutive years, the Stonewater Sanctuary in Peekskill, Highland Cultural Center, Howland Cultural Center and a solo show at the Amacord Gallery in Beacon. She is one of the owners of RiverWinds Gallery in Beacon.

The Bannerman Island Gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 5pm and till 9pm on Second Saturdays. A potion of the sale of art and photography is donated to the Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. for preservation of Bannerman Castle on Pollepel Island. Call: 845-234-3204.
