Putnam Hospital Center Receives American College of Radiology Accreditation
Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel is proud to announce that it has been awarded accreditation in its mammographic imaging services as the result of a recent survey conducted by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The prestigious ACR accreditation is awarded to those facilities which demonstrate the achievement of high practice standards following a voluntary peer-review evaluation by the ACR's Committee on Mammography Accreditation of the Commission on Quality and Safety.
ACR evaluations are designed to assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of the facility equipment and are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Putnam Hospital Center, which offers digital mammography imaging, underwent the intense accreditation process to demonstrate its commitment to quality patient care.
The American College of Radiology is a national organization serving more than 32,000 diagnosticinterventional radiologists, radiation oncologists and nuclear medicine and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
