A picnic and river-related activities will be featured at Esopus Meadows Preserve in Esopus, Ulster County, from noon to 2 p.m. Family-oriented games, music and refreshments will be the highlights at Poets' Walk Park in Red Hook, Dutchess County, from 4 to 6pm. All events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen and bug repellant.
Scenic Hudson works to protect and restore the Hudson River and its majestic landscape as an irreplaceable national treasure and a vital resource for residents and visitors. A crusader for the valley since 1963, they are credited with saving fabled Storm King Mountain from a destructive industrial project and launching the modern grass-roots environmental movement. Today with more than 20,000 ardent supporters, they are the largest environmental group focused on the Hudson River Valley. Visit sww.scenichudson.org for more information.
