Second Annual Support Connection Golf Outing a Great Success

Eighty-seven golfers braved scorching temperatures to participate in the second annual Support Connection Golf Outing, held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt Manor, NY. The Club Fit-sponsored event was once again a great success, surpassing last year's earnings with an estimated grand total of $10,000 raised for Support Connection, the Yorktown Heights-based organization dedicated to providing emotional, social, and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer.

Despite the high temperatures, the participants themselves turned in impressive scores:

In addition to the golfers, also in attendance at the BBQ and prize ceremony was Matt Sampson, morning and daytime co-anchor for News 12 Westchester. He is an honorary chairperson for Support Connection's upcoming Support A-Walk on September 30, 2007.

"The enthusiasm demonstrated by our participants just underscores the importance of the services provided by Support Connection to our local community," says Beth Beck, President of Club Fit and a member of Support Connection's Board of Directors. Katherine Quinn, Executive Director of Support Connection, adds, "This event is just another avenue for us in raising awareness about cancer and offering programs that help women living with cancer feel better physically and emotionally. We are grateful to Club Fit for their continued support, and look forward to teaming up with them again on next year's outing."

For information on participation and sponsorships for next year's event, contact Donna Corti at donna.corti@supportconnection.org or (914) 962-6402.
