Interpreting Beacon Fine Arts Show at Chthonic Clash Coffee House

My Beacon by Jessica Nori Diaz
What images come to mind when you think of Beacon? Artists constantly create new ways to capture the essence of their inner thoughts and feelings and often relate their work to the place they dwell. In this show, members of the Beacon Art Salon created artworks that speak to their thoughts, associations, visions and/or ideals of what Beacon means to them. For some it is the rich industrial legacy of this mountainous Hudson Valley town. For others it is a strong emerging art scene, or a thriving new community. Altered photography, painting, installation, mixed media and written statements about Beacon by each artist will be on view.

The Beacon Art Salon is a group that promotes the arts in Beacon, NY. They are artists and art enthusiasts who meet once a month to connect and share ideas and resources, plan events and offer one another support, inspiration and encouragement. Membership is free. Visit online for more information at www.giraffeandturtle.com.

Participating artists are: Audrey Chibbaro, Jessica Nori Diaz, Carla Goldberg, Erica Hauser, Samantha Hunt, Chelsea Steinberg, Tracy Teagarden, Stacey Ward Kelly

The show will run from September 8 until October 8 at Chthonic Clash, located at 453 Main Street, Beacon. An opening reception will be help on Saturday, Sept 8 from 5- 8pm.
