Managing a Child's Defiant Behavior Class Presented by Dutchess Mental Health Association

Registrations are now being accepted for the eight session skill-building series, "Managing Defiant Behavior", provided by the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County, 253 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie.

The course will be offered in two different locations. The Poughkeepsie class will be held on Tuesdays, from 6:30-8pm, beginning on September 18, 2007 at the Mental Health Association at 253 Mansion Street.

A separate class will also be held in Wingdale on Thursdays, from 6-7:30pm, beginning on September 13, 2007 at the Dover Public Library at 1797 Route 22. This education program was developed to help parents of children ages 2 to 11 gain additional skills to help them give effective commands to their children, improve school behavior from home, and manage their child's behavior in public places.

There is no fee for the 8-week course. Pre-registration is required. The course will be taught by Marlene Taylor, M.P.S., Education & Training Coordinator, of the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County. For further information or to register, call Ms. Taylor at 473-2500, ext. 1309.
