Vision Rehabilitation Services Available to Seniors Through Office for the Aging
The Office for the Aging would like to make the senior population aware that TheLighthouse of the Mid Hudson Valley, through a substantial grant from the Dyson Foundation, is now able to cover the cost for vision rehabilitation services to older adults who have moderate vision loss.
Services include low vision exam, optical aids, home visits for vision rehabilitation, safe mobility training, and adaptive supplies at home. Through these vision services, people with vision impairment learn alternate tehniques to accomplish daily tasks safely, travel independently, cope with their loss as well as maximize their remaining vision.
