Let The Housecleaning Begin To the Editor:
With the upcoming Philipstown Town Board elections approaching, the residents of Philipstown are about to make some important decisions regarding the future of this beautiful area that we call home.
Now that two of the aging and dinosauric members of the Philipstown Town Board have finally decided to step down and put themselves out to pasture, there will be two seats on the board up for grabs. The Town Supervisor position will also be contested.
With that in mind, I ask you, are you fed up with the "good old boys club" mentality that exists in this town? Are you tired of the runaway development and the "under the table" wheeling and dealing that seems to be the norm in the politics of this town?
Are you disgusted with the disappearing landscape that made all of us move here in the first place to get a better life for our families and children? Have you had it with the refusal of the Town Board to accept any responsibility regarding the safety of the residents who live on Philipstown's back roads where reckless driving is out of control (No need to mention how the Town Board and Highway Supervisor dropped the ball on that one)?
If you answered Yes, then you agree with me when I say that it is time for a change and that time is now.
The best advice here is to remember these four names: Vinny Tamagna, Michael Gibbons, Nat Prentice and Barbara Scuccimarra. These four individuals have what it takes to get this town back on track and want nothing more than to do just that. Regardless of what party they belong to, listen carefully to what they have to say in the next few weeks and decide for yourself.
A small town wannabe political group that allows two clueless empty suits from the Philipstown Democratic Committee to blacklist a fine candidate such as Mike Gibbons because he feels he can do a better job and "rocks their boat" by throwing his name into the race, should be ashamed of themselves and needs a serious wake up call and reality check.
The residents of Philipstown are finally disgusted and fed up with their present leadership and agree that what we need is a good house cleaning. Somebody get a mop and a bucket because that is exactly what is about to happen. Remember the names: Vinny Tamanga, Michael Gibbons, Nat Prentice and Barbara Scuccimarra.
And if anyone needs transportation to the polls on September 18th, I have a full size Chevrolet Suburban, and unlike the Philipstown Democratic Committee, I'll pick you up and take you for free regardless of what party you are registered to - just call 845-216- 9056.
