Nancy Belluscio, Former Haldane Teacher, to Participate in Half Marathon in Honor of Kristen Faust

This September 16, Nancy Belluscio, a retired Health and Physical Education teacher from Haldane High School in Cold Spring will be participating in the half marathon in Schroon Lake, NY where she is now operating the Tumble Inn Bed and Breakfast.

She is part of the Team in Training Program of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is doing so to compensate for the huge amount Kristen Faust raised for the Society last year. Kristen, a former student of Ms. Bellusico and a leader of Haldane's State Championship Basketball team, passed away at the age of 26 shortly after her particpation in the Schroon Lake half marathon in September 2006. Kristen and her mother, Kathy Faust, of Cold Spring, had raised over $10,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and honored their father and husband, respectively, who lost his battle against cancer. Ms. Belluscio will honor Kristen during the race and hopes to raise at least $2000.

Donations can be made on line at www.active.com/donate/ tntnyvt/tntnyvtnbellus or sent directly to Nancy at the following address: Tumble Inn Bed and Breakfast, 875 US Route 9, Schroon Lake, NY 12870 (Checks payable to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society).
