Giving Brower and Hosmer Their Due
To The Editor:

It's campaign time. The candidates for town-wide office are making their announcements and the political rhetoric has begun to fly. This would be good time to express our gratitude to the two Town Board members who are stepping down, Dave Brower and Al Hosmer, for their service to the Town of Philipstown. Having seen these two men at work in many, many meetings, I know that they are dedicated public servants who care deeply about our community. Each of them has given much time and effort to their responsibilities deserves recognition for his willingness to serve. We appreciate you, Dave and Al.

I would also like to ask the candidates to consider limiting their use of lawn signs in the campaign. These signs do nothing to enhance the beauty of Philipstown (in fact quite the reverse) or to inform the voters of your many qualifications. I am not going to use any lawn signs in my campaign (go to www.natprentice.com and click "When Signs Litter") and sincerely hope that their use can be limited this fall.
