Keep Putnam Beautiful is Calling All Artists to Paint Trash Cans

Keep Putnam Beautiful is recruiting and commissioning Putnam County artists to paint beautiful trash cans (steel barrels measuring 3 ft high and 2 ft in diameter) to be installed at Sonoma California Café in the Highlands Shopping Center at Rte. 312 and I-84. They will deliver blank/empty cans & lids and retrieve finished projects; artists are responsible for design, paint, sealant, etc.

Money: Thanks to a donation from the Cafe, Keep Putnam Beautiful will supply an empty 55-gallon drum & lid with ash receptacle and award a $150 honoraria to each of (6) selected artists after the work is completed.

Qualification: To qualify, residents of Putnam County are invited to submit sketches of your designs by September 15 via email to: walt.thompson@putnamcountyny.com or mail to Keep Putnam Beautiful, 40 Gleneida Ave., Carmel, NY 10512. The (6) separate designs will be chosen by September 28. The Beautiful Trash Cans need to be completed by November 1.

Designs: The design theme is Sonoma California Cafe. Their logo 8" to 12" in height needs to be somewhere on each of the beautiful trash cans. Stop in there for lunch or dinner to see their colorful atmosphere...and pick up a business card with their logo on it.
