Amanda Jamin and Timothy Walsh Engaged
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jamin of Cold Spring are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Amanda Jeanifer Jamin, to Mr. Timothy Allen Walsh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Walsh, of Stoughton, Massachusetts.
Miss Jamin attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she received a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Computer Science and a minor in mathematics February 2006, and her Masters of Science degree in Computer Science in February 2007.
While at WPI, Amanda was a member of the Women's Volleyball Team for four years and its captain for one. She placed in the top ten players for assists in the NEWMAC conference all four years and is 1st in WPI history for most assists in her school career. She is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity; coached a Special Olympics soccer team for two years; and, was President of the WPI chapter of Women in Computer Science.
Her senior year she traveled to Hungary to pursue her computer science interests by developing a parameter study application for distributed systems. She is currently employed by EMC² in White Plains, New York.
Mr. Walsh also attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May 2006, and where he is currently completing his Masters of Science in Computer Science. He will receive his degree in February 2008.
He is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega, where he has served as both treasurer and advisor liaison. Additionally he was an active member of the WPI Game Development Club and the WPI chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). His junior year he traveled to London, England where he worked for the Merton government researching alternative energy options.
Miss Jamin is a 2002 graduate of Haldane High School and the class valedictorian. Mr. Walsh is a 2002 graduate of Stoughton High School where he was a member of the N.E.S.B.A. championship marching band. An August, 2009 wedding is planned.
