Gibbons has Integrity, Honesty and Work Ethic
To the Editor:

When members of the Democratic Party outlined the characteristics they established for the candidates for Town Council, we are sure that readers immediately thought of Michael Gibbons. Not only does Michael have the integrity, honesty and work ethic that is necessary to serve our area, but he also has the experience and insight into the salient issues which face our unique and distinctive community.

Michael's political experiences are varied. As one of the state representatives for Putnam County Greenway, he has been dedicated to environmental issues. He has represented our state and locale through committees that address all the environmental positions that are necessary to perpetuate a healthy future.

As a member of the Board of Directors of the Garrison Fish and Game Club, Michael has always been a willing volunteer and leader. He has shown his aptitude for working with others, solving conflicts and arriving at solutions through his excellent and thorough reasoning skills.

Michael's experience on the Philipstown Planning Board has been distinct. He has always had the motivation to hear opinions from the community as well as other board members. He has never shied from representing the community or expressing the feelings of the people, even when their sentiments have been in opposition to the "good `ole boys". Michael can pride himself in his selfless perspectives.

We commend and respect Michael for his hard work and devotion to Philipstown. To vote for Michael is to vote for a much needed and refreshing change! Please remember to vote on September 18.

Kathy and Bernie Smelter
