Gibbons a Tireless Team Player
Dear Editor,

Recently there have been a series of letters regarding the Philipstown Democratic Committee, but none of them have addressed the most important issue: why, after the Committee declined to endorse Michael Gibbons, did two of its most prominent members immediately resign?

All those running for Town Board are admirable people and I'm sure would make fine TB members. But I have watched Michael Gibbons work as a tireless team player on countless committees and boards, eager to solicit others' opinions and willing to change his mind if he believes it is the right thing to do; he truly wants the best for this town and actually believes that a majority of residents should decide its direction, not the personal opinions of a small group of entrenched people.

I have watched Mike Gibbons stick to his guns when he believed a group's decision would be harmful to our area, which I suspect has not endeared him to certain members of, for instance, the Philipstown Democratic Committee.

If you want someone on the Town Board who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, I hope you will join me in voting for Michael Gibbons.

Suzie Gilbert
