Volunteers Needed for Hudson Highlands Triathlon

Volunteers are needed to help with the Second Annual Hudson Highlands Greenway Triathlon, to be held on Sunday, September 16, 2007. The race is sponsored by the Philipstown Greenway Committee and Hudson River Navigator Vincent Tamagna.

Join others at the new Hudson Highlands State Park at Dockside where volunteers will help put kayaks in the water, direct traffic on roads and trails, give out refreshments, put up/ take down equipment, etc. Notify Mike McKee of your interest at mbmckee@bestweb.net and attend the volunteer orientation Monday September 10, 2007 at 7pm at Marketing Works Now, 292 Main Street in Nelsonville. Find out more about the event at www.HudsonHighlandsTriathlon.org

This is a kayak, biking and trail-running triathlon in three loops. Each leg of the Race begins at Dockside in Cold Spring, first, kayakers paddle the 6-mile loop to Pollepel Island (also known as Bannerman's Island); then onto the bikes and down Route 9D for a 24-mile roundtrip ride to Bear Mountain Bridge; then the final 8-mile run into the hills of Hudson Highlands State Park.
