Rash of Burglaries Hit Cold Spring Area
The Cold Spring Police Department, after repeated requests from the PCN&R, have confirmed that a series of burglaries have taken place in Cold Spring Village since the middle of August. The Department told the PCN&R on Tuesday, September 12 that two local businesses were burglarized on August 17/ 18. Two more were hit on August 21/22 as were several businesses and one residence during the overnight period of September 10/11, 2007.
The investigations into the incidents are continuing and the Department asks that anyone with any information that might be relevant to the crimes contact the Department at 265-3407.
The PCN&R also talked to the County Sheriff's Department regarding other rumors indicating that there has also been a recent series of burglaries on Route 9 in Philipstown. That Department, neither confirming or denying the incidents, indicated that investigations are ongoing and no information will be released to the public until the crimes are solved.
The Police Department asks that residents and business owners be sure that their windows and doors are locked.
