Frederick Allen Schauffler

Frederick Allen Schauffler died peacefully at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on September 3, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was 74.

Mr. Schauffler was born on July 13, 1933 in New York City to Frederick H. Schauffler, Jr. and Eleonora Ringstad Schauffler. After graduating from The Dublin School in Dublin, NH, he worked on antisubmarine warfare at Hudson Labs in Dobbs Ferry. He later earned a business degree from the University of the State of New York and managed investment properties in New York City.

In 1958, Mr. Schauffler married Caroline Reibert, who now lives in Canaan, Connecticut. They moved to Garrison in 1965 with their three children. Mr. Schauffler moved back to the city in 1970, but visited frequently thereafter.

Mr. Schauffler was a Colonel in the New York State Guard and the Veteran Corps Artillery. He was also a Mason. He is survived by his three children, Nancy A.of New York City, Carla E.of Garrison, William F.of Garrison, daughterin law Kimberly, and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at 4pm at the Frank Campbell Funeral Home on Madison @ 81st Street in New York City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Dublin School; 18 Lehmann Way, Box 522, Dublin, New Hampshire 03444.
