Our Lady Of Loretto CYO Basketball Prepares to Kick Off 2007-2008 Season

Our Lady of Loretto Parish is currently preparing for what will prove to be another successful year in CYO Basketball. For people not familiar with CYO basketball, it is a league with a higher competitive level than the instructional leagues often found at the recreation department level. Each team plays 12-13 games during the year. Games are played on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons and are refereed by Certified Basketball Officials. They have been fortunate in the past to utilize the Garrison School for both practices and home games.

Registration is currently going on for boys and girls grades 4-8 interested in participating in this league. Sign up sheets are in the back of Our Lady of Loretto Church as well as St. Joseph's Chapel in Garrison. Last year 3 boys teams were fielded at the 5th, 6th and 8th grade levels. This year they would like to get the girls back on the court to represent Our Lady of Loretto. The number of teams and the grade levels will be determined by the number of participants who register.

Anyone interested in coaching or would like more information regarding CYO Basketball can contact John Koval at (845) 265-3727.
