Poet Jo Pitkin Celebrates The Measure at the Butterfield Library
The Julia L. Butterfield Library will host a reception and book signing to celebrate the publication of The Measure by Cold Spring poet Jo Pitkin on Saturday, September 22 from 3- 5pm.
The Measure was recently published by Finishing Line Press, an independent small press located in the heart of the bluegrass region in central Kentucky. Copies of The Measure are now available at Merritt Bookstore, 66 Main Street, Cold Spring, or can be ordered directly from the publisher (www.finishinglinepress.com).
Pitkin holds an M.F.A. in poetry from the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. Her poems have appeared in Ironwood, Quarterly West, Dark Horse, Nimrod International Journal, and other literary magazines. In 2007, she won Third Prize in Mohonk Mountain Stage Company's regional poetry contest, Vanguard Voices of the Hudson Valley, as well as Third Prize in the Connecticut River Review contest sponsored by the Connecticut Poetry Society.
She will be reading poems from The Measure on The Woodstock Roundtable with Doug Grunther, Sunday, October 21, at 8:05am on 100.1 FM WDST.
