Welcome Back Assembly at Haldane Introduces New Superintendent and Staff
Mrs. Maggie Davis, Haldane Elementary School Principal, held a Welcome Back assembly for students in grades one through five. She introduced Dr. Mark Villanti, Haldane's new Superintendent to the children. She also introduced new staff members Renee Curry, Elementary School Social Worker, and Jennie Cohowicz, Speech Therapist. All new and returning students were introduced. Everyone was welcomed to the
Haldane Family" with applause.
Mrs. Davis spoke to the children about the No More Bullies program and reminded them to be kind to one another and not tease. She also discussed the character education monthly themes. September's theme is Respect, and the children were reminded to be good listeners, speak kindly, play fair, wait turns, say please and thank you, clean up after themselves and share.
The grand finale was dancing the Cha Cha Slide, led by first grade teacher Catherine Scrocca. Mrs. Davis encouraged the children to take their energy back to class and focus on their school day.
