O'Neill Girls JV Soccer Split First Two Games
The O'Neill girls JV soccer has opened the 2007 season with a 1-1 record. In their first game, played on September 5, 2007 against Goshen, the Raiders fell 1-0. The young team played hard and had great support from their defense, led by Jennifer Perkins and goal keeper Andrea Constantinou. Sept. 14 found the team at Chester where they won 1-0 in dramatic fashion.
Despite controlling the game offensively, it took the closing minutes for Marion Copeland to wrestle the ball out from the defensive half, to find Anna Biehle breaking down the sidelines who crossed the ball to a cutting Siera Dillman in center who struck the ball soundly into the goal. Andrea Constantinou recorded her first shut-out. The JV girls host Fallsburg, Saturday Sept. 29 at 10am.
