Family Fungus Walk Free Program at Leonard Wagner Park
What are Witch's Butter, Stinky Squid, Destroying Angels, Fairy Steps and Hens of the woods? These are some of the fantastic fungi growing in the woods around us. Come join this free family-oriented stroll, which takes place on Saturday, October 6, on the new and improved Town Park nature trail. Learn histories of the fungi around us, including which are delicious, which are deadly, and more.
This program is sponsored by the Putnam Valley Commission for the Conservation of the Environment. Participants should meet at the Leonard Wagner Memorial Town Park. The walk will begin at 1pm. The Recreation Department Sunset Series is also sponsoring additional free programs this fall, Open Mic on September 29 , and a free concert featuring Hope Machine on October 20.
