Cary Downey has a Sincere Desire to Protect Best Aspects of Philipstown
To the Editor:

It was with great pleasure that I learned that Cary Downey had agreed to run for the Philipstown Town Council. Cary is a lifelong resident whose family has been here for generations. He is following a family tradition of public service and has a sincere desire to protect the best aspects of Philipstown while working to make needed improvements. As a businessman, Cary has a clear understanding of budgets and the need to control costs while continuing to provide outstanding service to his customers. Unquestionably, he will bring that commitment of cost containment and quality service to Philipstown's residents. We recently experienced the significant increase in the school tax and now face proposed increase in the County Tax that is just unconscionable. We need someone who recognizes how critcal it is to control spending.

Finally, Cary's quiet and unassuming ways will certainly serve him in working with the other Council members. He sees beyond the needs of Cold Spring and Garrison and would represent all of Philipstown. Cary Downey deserves our votes.
