Haldane Homecoming This Weekend
The community will once again be buzzing this weekend with Haldane Homecoming festivities.
On Friday, September 28, at 6:30pm, all Haldane Fall sports teams and Pop Warner Hawks teams will march up Main Street led by the Cold Spring Fire Company, head north on Route 9D and end at the Haldane field. There, with the generous oversight of the Cold Spring Fire Company, the traditional bonfire will be lit, and all participating teams will be announced. The Varsity Football team will ceremoniously toss the mascot of their Homecoming opponent into the bonfire.
On Saturday, September 29, the Haldane Football Association will sponsor a homecoming breakfast for Modified and Varsity Football players, coaches and their families beginning at 9am. At 1pm, the Varsity Football team will host the Blind Brook Trojans in their annual Homecoming game, beginning with senior players being escorted onto the field by their parents.
It promises to be another exciting game, as the Blue Devils are primed and ready to deliver a repeat performance of their 21-12 victory over the Croton-Harmon Tigers last Thursday.
During the game, the Football Association will once again be selling raffle tickets for $10 each. The winning ticket, which will be chosen at the last home game on October 13, should yield a prize close to last year's pot of nearly $2000. If you haven't yet bought a ticket, come to the game and take a chance and support Haldane football!
