Tina Merando Seeking a Second Term as Town Clerk
Tina Merando has announced her candidacy for re-election as Philipstown Town Clerk. Her statement follows:
"I am a lifelong resident of Philipstown and reside with my husband Bill in the Village of Nelsonville. As a member of this community, I enjoy volunteering for various organizations, working side by side with the many dedicated residents of Philipstown.
"In 2003, I stated my position on the Office of the Town Clerk. I promised to reach out and enhance services and be accessible to the general public.
"Since first elected, I have extended office hours, created and continue to maintain the Town's Website, produce the quarterly newsletter, actively write grants to ease the tax burden and eagerly accepted the role of managing the municipal channel.
"In 2003, I pointed out that "The Town Clerk's Office" is historical in it traditions, serving as a direct link between the residents and their local government, I still believe this to be true. I intend to continue to improve services and accessibility.
"I ask for your support on November 6 and look forward to seeing old friends and new residents during this campaign season."
