Cold Spring Boy Soprano to be Robed Chorister

Simon Scott-Hamblen (age 9), son of Fr. Shane & Mary Scott-Hamblen of St Mary-inthe Highlands, Cold Spring, will be robed as a full chorister of St Thomas' Boys' Choir on Sunday the 7th of October, at 4pm, at a special Choral Evensong Service. The public is invited to attend the ceremony at St Thomas' Episcopal Church in Manhattan.

Founded in 1919, Saint Thomas Choir School is one of the four residential choir schools in the world and the only choir boarding school in the U.S. Two of the other famous choir boarding schools are the Vienna Boys' Choir and Westminster Abbey Choir School.

As a chorister, Simon Scott- Hamblen, will perform with the choir in such places as Carnegie Hall and Avery-Fisher Hall, participate in various recordings, and tour the United States, England, and Europe.

The Choral Evensong Service (Oct. 7, 4pm) is free and all members of the public are invited to attend. Saint Thomas' Church is located at the corner of 5th Avenue and 53rd Street, New York City.
