Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Presents Talk: Oak Forests of our Region: Past Changes and Current Threats

Join the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum on Thursday, October 11, at 7:30pm at Painter's Tavern, Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, for a Evening Speakers Series: Oak Forests of our Region: Past Changes and Current Threats. Join Dr. William S.F. Schuster as he describes key ecological changes that have occurred in our oak forests and potential future trajectories. Dr. Schuster is the Executive Director of the Black Rock Forest Consortium and Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. The oak forests of our region have dominated the landscape for the past 10,000 years. They have survived many challenges in the past, but currently face new threats to their health and sustainability.

The Evening Speakers Series has been funded in part by The New York Council for the Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities

All Evening Speakers Series events take place on Thursdays, 7:30pm at Painter's Tavern, Hudson Street, Cornwall-on- Hudson, NY. Limited Seating so come early. General admission $7, Museum members $4.
