Caribbean Artist Clairmonte Mapp Exhibits at East Fishkill Library
The East Fishkill Community Library is pleased to host an exhibition of the art work of Clairmonte Mapp. Mr. Mapp is a prolific and versatile artist, who utilizes environmental aspects in his main themes, such as culture and heritage. His work possesses a Caribbean charm and flavor as their cornerstone. His art encompasses a number of outstanding styles and mediums, including oils, watercolor, airbrush, lino cuts, mono prints and acrylics. Each piece is custom framed by the artist in a unique setting - the frames are made from white pine, designed and crafted by the artist.
Mapp's work has been exhibited throughout the Caribbean and in the US. After teaching art for 15 years, Mapp resigned to become a professional artist with Art Studios in Barbados and New York. His work will be on exhibit for the month of October. The artist will be available in the Library on Thursday evening, October 11 to talk with any interested patrons about his work.
