Chip Marks to Explore Life After Death at Desmond Fish Library
Speaking through Hamlet, Shakespeare described the afterlife as "The undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveler returns." Everyone wonders what happens after death. But mostly, all we can do is wonder. We face the same quandary that Shakespeare did: no one that we know, who has died, has come back to tell us where they are and what they're doing.
Is there any available information that might help us? Mr. Marks will explore this topic this Sunday October 14 at 2pm in a talk entitled: "Is there life after death; and, if so, where might we go?" Attendees can enter the library through the main entrance or the rear door and take the elevator (or steps) downstairs to the Program Room.
From personal experiences to clinical scientific discoveries, there is actually quite an extensive body of material that describes existence after death. Marks will survey the fields of near death experiences, remembrance of past lives, and communication with departed friends and relatives. More importantly, participants will be given the opportunity to look into the nature of the larger reality that encompasses this physical world.
The main obstacle most persons face when contemplating continued existence is the overwhelming significance that is assigned to death itself. Death is usually regarded as an imposing, impenetrable wall - a black boundary into which no light can shine. During the program Mr. Marks will turn the focus inward to illuminate our true identities - who we are, what powers we have and the limitless knowledge and understanding at our disposal. As we remember our true nature and reclaim our inner understanding, death will diminish in importance. Participants will cut death down to size.
This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Desmond Fish Library and is free and open to the public.
The Desmond Fish Library is located in Garrison New York at the corner of Routes 403 and 9D. For more information or directions call the library at 424- 3020.
