Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce to Hold Town Supervisor Candidates Debate

Residents, businesses, and organizations in Putnam Valley are invited to submit questions in advance of the October 16, 2007 debate between Town of Putnam Valley Supervisor candidates Wendy Whetsel (D) and Robert Tendy (R). The debate, which will begin at 7:30pm, will be held in the Putnam Valley High School cafeteria and is free and open to the public.

"This is one of the most important races in our community, and this debate is likely to be the most important forum for the candidates prior to the general election," explains Ron Forehand, President and CEO of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, which organized the event. "We encourage everyone who has a question to send it to us and then come to the debate to hear what the candidates have to say."

All questions must be submitted in advance and received by Wednesday, Oct 10. Questions can be emailed to rforehand@hvgateway chamber.com. Questions can also be faxed to 914-737-0541. Due to time restrictions, not every question will be presented to the candidates, nor will questions be taken from the floor.

Mr. Forehand says that the debate will be moderated by a representative of the League of Women's Voters, and the evening will also include an introduction of other candidates running for town office. Light refreshments will be served when the door opens at 7pm. Putnam Valley High School is located at 146 Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley.
