Gary Ritchie Announces Candidacy for Assessor
The following is his statement:
"Gary M. Ritchie, Sr. is seeking re-election as Assessor for the Town of Philipstown. A New York State Certified Assessor, Gary has served on the Board of Assessors for 25 years. He has acted as Chairman for twenty-two years. Gary is the Democratic candidate and has been endorsed by the Independence Party. He is also on the independent TEAM Philipstown line.
"Gary attended Haldane Central and is a graduate of the New York Military Academy, Cornwall, NY. He retired after twentyfive years of service with the New York State Department of Corrections. The father of two sons and a daughter is very proud of his nine grandchildren.
"Ritchie enjoys the honor of life membership in the North Highlands Fire Department. He was instrumental in the formation of the department, served as Fire Commissioner and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners.
"A resident of the Brookside Senior Cooperative Park, Gary has been involved in the groups and served as vice-President of the organization."
Gary quickly says he "enjoys being accessible and helpful to the public and is impartial when making decisions. The Assessors Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 2pm. The staff is available to answer questions, provide information and guidance for all the residents of Philipstown.
"I would appreciate your support on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Please cast your votes for Bill Mazzuca, Cathy Lilburne, Nancy Montgomery, Anne Nichter and Gary Ritchie when you go to the polls."
