Mental Health Agencies Offer Free Depression Screenings For Adults
Free, confidential screenings for adults who may be suffering from depression, bipolar disorder and/or anxiety will be offered to the public on Tuesday, October 9, from 10am to 4pm at the Mental Health Association offices, 253 Mansion Street, City of Poughkeepsie.
Sponsored jointly by the Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene and the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County, Inc., the screenings are strictly confidential and will cover a range of common emotional conditions that often go undiagnosed and/ or misunderstood. In addition, information on local services will be available. No appointment is necessary.
Mental health professionals will be there to administer a written self-assessment and to talk one-on-one with each participant. In addition, information will be provided on various mental health topics, e.g., "how to manage stress" and to recognize the physical symptoms that often go hand-in-hand with emotional disorders.
For further information, call Betsy Fratz, RN, Nursing Supervisor, Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene, at 486-2892 or Janet Caruso, Director of Community Education, Mental Health Association, at 486-2896.
Parking is in the rear of the 253 Mansion Street building. Enter from Cottage Street and take the stairs or elevator to the first floor conference rooms.
