Tamagna has Been Photographed Because he is an Achiever
Dear Editor:
This is in response to the letter written by Elisa Tuttle concerning Mr. Tamagna and photo ops. Why have we seen Vinny Tamagna in photographs? It is because Mr. Tamagna has been involved in, or been instrumental in, many accomplishments for his constituents.
Historically politicians have been photographed when they are achievers, when they have gotten things done and been effective in their elected position. It has been this way since there were cameras and newspapers. It is important that the constituents see that their elected officials are out and about doing good things, fighting the fight and getting things done for the benefit of those they serve.
Yes, over his 13 years in office, Mr. Tamagna has been in photographs. Yes, after his 13 years in office, Mr. Tamagna has a record of achievement. On the other hand, the inference is that Mr. Mazzuca does not like photo ops and we do not see him as often as Mr. Tamagna. I ask you, is this because he is camera shy or more likely because his record of achievement pales in comparison to Mr. Tamagna's?
Look at the lack of a handicapped accessible town hall, the lack of facilities for our well deserved seniors , the rampant development in our town. Would Mr. Mazzuca like to be photographed next to these buildings and facilities? I think not! The answer is clear. We see Vinny Tamagna because he is here for us all, and I for one hope that never changes.
